Living in SoCal where flowers bloom year round Spring doesn't feel quite the same as it did growing up in Montana.

The snow finally melting after months and months of white, hearing birds chirpping again, the days getting longer, pulling out your summer clothes hoping there won't be another snow.

But this year, I've enjoyed Spring more than I have in a long time. Part of that might have to do with living in Bakersfield for the last two months where it actually was cold and dreary. It makes you really appreciate the sun.

And we did.

Okay, I need someone to explain my son's desire to eat dirt? Really? Doesn't it taste horrible?

Happy Spring and Happy weekend.

My youngest son ate a lot of sand as a toddler. I mean a lot! It made for some interesting diapers. lol Great pics! I'm not that far from you. We are in Santa Clarita, right by Magic Mountian. Have a great weekend!

I was just reading the book, "Real Foods for Mother and Baby" and the author talked about how our kids really gain so much from living outside, going barefoot and eating dirt. As strange (and gross) as it sounds it provides a lot of iron that we miss out on in our diet. Maybe that will be of some encouragement. It's hard for me to stomach thinking of Reese eating dirt too... Love the picture of V with her huge smile and two bottom teeth. She's almost 1 month! Can't believe it!

Somehow I stumbled upon your blog.. and I just have to say that your family is beautiful, and I love the pictures! I looked at your book list, too, and I think you would love "One Thousand Gifts" by Ann Voskamp, if you haven't already read it. :)
